Final Cut Pro - Module III

III. Adding audio: Music from file: Page 1 of 3

In the previous step, an audio file created from video was added to a sequence in the Timeline window. Creating audio files while digitizing video is the recommended way to bring extra sound into a sequence. Final Cut Pro 3 supports only .AIFF, Audio CD Data (Macintosh), Sound, and Wave (.wav) files that can also be brought into a video sequence. Other types of sound files may be converted using outside software.

This step demonstrates how to bring in a different audio file and place it into the Timeline window.

  1. From the File menu, choose Import, then Audio CD file …
Import Audio
  1. Find the file mtaps.wav, which should have been downloaded at the start of this module.
