Introduction: Upload, Download To this point, this tutorial has focused exclusively on the design of the web pages, but learning how to create the pages is only a part of the process of building a web site. In order for visitors to visit the web site, it must be located on an accessible web server. Since most pages are created locally - that is, on a computer workstation that does not serve as a web host - it's important to learn how to transfer files from one machine to another. In this module, users will learn how to transfer files from one computer to another, as well as how to link web pages to external web sites. Another concept explored in this tutorial is the idea of linking pages together to form whole web sites, as discussed in Module II. But hyperlinks can also be used to connect a web site to other web sites, and links can also be created that will initiate a file transfer to the visitor's computer in a process called downloading.
